For Monday in Holy Week, the Gospel comes from St. John 12:1-11. Jesus attends a banquet in Bethany. Mary Magdalene anoints Christ's feet with oil. Judas becomes indignant because he wanted to seen the oil and skim some of the profits for himself. There are times in the history of the Church where we have seen Judases who profit from the Church and cheat others. But we should be like Mary and seek intimate union with God, not lust after wealth.
